“I’ve come to realise that many chronic illnesses of our time are primarily driven or fuelled by poor diet and lifestyle choices. Western medicine has become super specialised nowadays, with no one taking a complete overview of the whole person. As a result, a patient with multi-system problems can be under the care of multiple specialists at the same time with the dots remaining unconnected and there being no joined up thinking. I went into Functional medicine because I wanted to be the detective to dig a little deeper to find the root cause of patients’ complex clinical dilemmas and provide them with a unified, targeted and effective solution.” Dr Andrew Greenland
